A few mystery bugs were reported by Sjoerd (thanks!), that I hope to have fixed in this version. Download here!
Minor update is out
- Bugfix: no more problems with quoted strings anywhere
- Mplate error reports are now PHP errors (instead of uncaught exceptions) and include the correct line number, if applicable.

And here it is, the second release! Not only is “mplate” the brand new name, the following changes were made:
- Bugfix: quoted strings *outside* mplate expressions are left alone
- Experimental feature: After a template is compiled, it is checked for PHP parse errors. If found, mplate will provide the developer with an educated guess about the line in the template file where the problem occurs.

(and please tell me what you think !)
I guess the best way to start with “marketing” mplate is by seeing if it’s worth being marketed. So, dear PHP community, what do you think about mplate?
Yo, this is the first Farty release. Needs PHP 5.1 or higher (according to the awesome PHP_CompatInfo).

Late edit: yes, this engine was called “Farty” at its conception. Yes, that’s horrible. Hence the name change.
